Ram Krishna Jayakhu Shrestha, Former Chairman of the Kathmandu Metropolitian City Ward no. 9, is a Kathmandu Valley native who has earned several appointed and elected social positions during his social service career, which began more than two decades ago.
Ram Krishna represented the Ward civil forum (वडा नागरिक मञ्च) from 2015 to 2017. He is a Member of CPN (UML) Kathmandu District Committee. He is also a Secretary (सचिव) of Election Regional Committee, CPN - UML Kathmandu Region No. 2 (निर्वाचन क्षेत्रिय कमिटी, नेकपा (एमाले) काठमाडौँ क्षेत्र नं - २). Ram Krishna is also a Central member of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy and a Founding Member of Rudramati Sarokar Samajh, Ratopul.
Prior to being elected as Chairman, Ram Krishna was a member of District Sports Development Committee, Kathmandu (काठमाडौँ जिल्ला खेलकुद विकास समिती) and People's Volunteer Nepal. He has also played National level football for different clubs including Mahabir Club, Saraswati Club, United Club, Battisputali Club. He is also a member of Rotaract Club of Kathmandu.
Ram Krishna and his wife, Laxmi Shrestha, have two children, Roshan Shrestha and Roshani Shrestha.
